Let us go back ten years ago, to August 2009. ADM then announced the opening of the new departure sector to the United States, to allow passengers to check in and complete US security and customs formalities more efficiently, in a larger and more user-friendly space.

Ten years later, it goes without saying that YUL has come a long way and achieved many milestones! Having become an important international hub, the terminal has expanded and its configuration has changed significantly. The cross-border area reflects the rest of the airport, offering modern facilities, attractive shops and a variety of great restaurants.

We should also mention the sorting room for outbound baggage, which remains one of the most sophisticated in the world, with ingenious automated systems allowing U.S. customs officers to recall certain luggage for secondary inspection.

Passenger growth has remarkably increased, along with the number of carriers and destinations. Ten years later, it is almost 38 million of passengers who passed through this new zone.

This successful 10th anniversary therefore heralds an equally promising future, thanks to our daily involvement, our expertise and the passion that drives us all, actors in the airport community. Together, we are ready to soar!
