As you can see every day, the number of passengers is growing at YUL and in order to offer a smooth and rapid experience for passengers, ADM began in 2017, the construction of a connection centre for transit passengers. It officially welcomed its first passengers yesterday, December 11, 2019.

At the end of 2019, YUL will have welcomed more than 20 million passengers, an increase of 4.5% over 2018. Of these, about 20% are in transit, which confirmed the need to open a connection centre.  With this new hub, YUL is solidifying its position as an international air traffic hub.

ADM is proud to integrate sustainable development components into its projects, particularly in this new connection centre:

  • Green wall: Located close to the waiting area before the customs controls, it will help reduce stress and contribute to improving air quality for users.
  • Solar wall: Located on the extreme west part of the south facade, it will harness the sun’s power to heat the air and ventilate the building.

This project would not have been possible without the support of a dedicated team to provide a unique customer experience inspired by Montreal. This centre is the result of close collaboration between several stakeholders in the YUL airport community: CBSA, CATSA, Air Canada and Air Transat, among others, have worked closely on this project. CBSA and CATSA will be the main operators of the connection centre and have participated in validating the facilities. Airline passengers will be the users of this centre.

The official inauguration was held on 9 December in the presence of the various teams and project partners. An event that allowed everyone to celebrate this important project.
