Launched in 2016 at Gatwick Airport in England, the Sunflower program continues to grow in popularity, with more than 200 airports worldwide taking part.
As an airport authority, ADM Aéroports de Montréal is committed to providing facilities and services adapted to those with disabilities. We firmly believe that all individuals, regardless of their abilities, should be able to access YUL Montréal-Trudeau International Airport in an equitable and barrier-free manner.
Why adhere?
Some disabilities or conditions are not immediately obvious, making it a real challenge for the traveler who needs support. That’s why the Sunflower program was born, with its distinctive logo, which enables travelers to discreetly signal to airport staff that they may need extra help or more time in the passenger journey.
Passengers wearing a lanyard bearing this logo can discreetly signal to staff that they may need extra help or more time.
You may be wondering why the sunflower? The organization wanted a discreet sign, visible from afar, suggesting happiness, positivity, strength, growth and confidence.
Please note that passenger lanyards can be picked up free of charge at our customer service and information desks.
