We invite you to join us on June 25 to mark the 3rd edition of YUL Airport Workers’ Day, a national initiative led by the Canadian Airports Council.

As every year, ADM Aéroports de Montréal wishes to highlight the entire YUL community for their ongoing commitment and exceptional expertise. To celebrate the occasion, an ice cream truck will be on site for everyone to enjoy.

During this day, certain team members who have particularly distinguished themselves will also be honoured. Among them, one award recipient will be selected to recognize their exceptional contribution.

NATIONAL AWARD: Outstanding Contribution to Security and Safety
Recognition of an individual whose work has had a significant impact on reducing safety or security risks at their airport or across the Canadian airport network.

Olivier Marcoux-Legault – Sector Manager, Security Services
On February 6, a dog entered a restricted area of the airport, posing a significant safety risk. Thanks to Olivier Marcoux-Legault’s calmness and composure, the animal was quickly located and returned to its owner without incident.

Vincent Dubuc – Sector Manager, Security Services
A key contributor to homelessness monitoring, Vincent Dubuc stands out for his rigour and collaborative approach, building trust with vulnerable individuals. He plays an essential role in concrete initiatives that enhance airport safety and operational efficiency.

 

NATIONAL AWARD: Airport Innovator
Recognizes someone who generates ideas, plans creative solutions, and stays ahead of the evolving needs of airports, cargo, and passengers—an individual driven by change with a unique ability to solve problems through innovative approaches.

Waheed Olawale Olatunji
Through his professionalism, rigour, and organizational skills, Waheed Olawale Olatunji contributes significantly to operational performance. With strong leadership, initiative, and a positive attitude, he effectively supports his colleagues and embodies the airport’s values of integrity and quality.

 

NATIONAL AWARD: Environmental Steward
Recognizes an airport employee who passionately supports conservation efforts and contributes effectively to the long-term decarbonization of the airport environment.

Chantal Lafortune – Sorting Clerk, Environmental Services
Chantal Lafortune stands out for her efficiency and consistent commitment, making a tangible contribution to the airport’s environmental performance. With 32 years of experience, she embodies excellence, reliability, and discipline while maintaining a safe and functional work environment.

 

NATIONAL AWARD: Excellence in Efficiency Optimization
This award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated exceptional skills in streamlining processes, improving work processes, reducing costs, and optimizing productivity within their department or organization. Their ability to strategically refine systems and implement effective change has had a measurable impact, contributing to short-term success and long-term growth.

Min Sun Kim – Assistant General Manager, Sales
Through her optimization mindset and proactive approach, Min Sun Kim plays a key role in improving operations and the overall airport experience. Her solution-oriented approach and ability to innovate reflect the values of efficiency, collaboration, and excellence.

 

NATIONAL AWARD: Industry Champion
Recognizes someone who inspires the next generation to pursue careers in aviation or airport management by showcasing the industry’s diverse and exciting opportunities.

Rohin Matharu – Assistant Director
Through his service mindset and authenticity, Rohin Matharu creates meaningful human interactions while ensuring strong operational performance. Proactive and supportive, he enhances the passenger experience and serves as a true ambassador for the airport.

Denzel Eadie Lowe – Ramp Supervisor, Air Operations
Denzel Eadie Lowe excels in his role and contributes to efficient operations through his calm and professionalism. Resilient with a positive attitude, he goes beyond his responsibilities and fully embodies the values of the airport community.

Recognizes an airport employee whose behind-the-scenes contributions are essential to operations, demonstrating innovation, teamwork, and collaboration.

Juliana Budnar – Litigation and ITD Supervisor
Juliana Budnar stands out for her leadership and availability, contributing to a positive and efficient work environment. Through her initiative and kindness, she supports her team’s development and embodies collaboration and service.

Pascal Marsan – Team Lead, Airfield Department

Favour Keagborkwuzi Atuye – Cleaning Team Member

Luc Masse – Ramp and Cabin Manager, Air Operations

Fignole Philippe – Team Lead, Infrastructure and Lifecycle Services

Francis Côté – Operations Supervisor (Control Room)

François Garry – Team Lead, Air Transat GSE Services
François Garry contributes to safe and efficient operations, even in demanding contexts. His innovative ideas and rigour make him an exceptional asset. With over 30 years of service, he embodies reliability, excellence, and professionalism.

Johnny Yau – BAP Director
Johnny Yau transformed the BAP into a more collaborative and efficient environment through his engaging leadership and human approach. He fosters strong relationships and embodies collaboration and authenticity.

Michael Rodriques – Bartender, John Molson Pub
Michael Rodriques has enhanced the customer experience through his service mindset and positive energy. Organized and attentive, he builds customer loyalty and supports his team as a true ambassador for the airport.

Rachid Baoudi – Director of Operations, Air Transat
Rachid Baoudi played a key role in recovering Air Transat’s operations at YUL through his leadership and results-driven approach. Professional and attentive, he is a model of excellence.

Adam Baker – Airport IT Support Technician
