OHS presents its share of challenges, whatever the sector of activity, but in an airport context, the need to implement effective practices is greatly accentuated.

Why is the airport environment so unique?

Complex operations

Managing passengers through the passenger process, maintenance close to aircrafts, site work – while operations are maintained, the environment is bustling, and the risks are multiple. Safety measures must therefore be adapted so as not to interfere with ongoing operations.

Traffic

Every year, the number of users on the site increases, and so the need to adapt our practices to take account of this traffic is significant. Safety protocols must be rigorous and require the investment of everyone involved to ensure that they are respected and that safe working practices are adopted.

High risks and the need for training

Electrical hazards, chemical hazards, fall hazards, collision hazards, ergonomic hazards – these are just a few examples of the risks that community workers face every day. That’s why training is essential to stay on top of risks and wearing PPE to protect against them. By the way, have you noticed the new posters in the baggage rooms?

If you have any questions or concerns, talk to your manager. Your safety, or that of your colleagues, could depend on it!
