YUL is committed to projects and innovation in order to inspire meaningful connections to passengers, and last Friday saw the launch of the construction of the future Réseau express métropolitain (REM) station, a structuring and ambitious project that is part of the cityside development program.
For the benefit of travellers and Quebecers and in response to the growth in passenger traffic at YUL, the cityside development program is meant to make the airport site more accessible. It includes the rebuilding of the multi-level parking complex and the drop-off/pick-up zones at YUL and the construction of the REM station. A new space named YULtransit will also be built underground where modes of public transport will converge. The program represents an investment of $2.5 billion from ADM. As one of the largest private infrastructure projects in Québec, it marks a new milestone in the history of Montréal-Trudeau Airport.
To support execution of the work, ADM has awarded the project management contract to a consortium composed of firms with specialized expertise: Pomerleau, SNC-Lavalin and Kiewit (PSK Construction). As partners of the program, they will be mandated to identify opportunities for optimizing the schedule and phasing of the work while ensuring that impacts on passenger service are minimized.
